Changing the battery cover shell on your Coolpix 4200, 5200, 5900 and
7900.
This is a very easy service to perform.
Remember you are working on a precise optical instrument, use care and
take your time.
All you need is something flat to carefully pry with, like a small
screwdriver or a knife blade.
Open the battery door and slide the plastic part out
until it stops. On the underside of the door is a metal plate.
2 plastic
stoppers on the battery door shell prevents the door from sliding all
the way off of the metal plate. Keep pressure on the metal plate against
those stoppers while you very carefully pry up the two clips so they
slip over the stoppers. The plastic part slides right off. Slide the new
door shell on and your done!!
